This summer, the suspension started squeaking again. Posted March 3, 2017. Dec 29, 2011 · My jeep starting making this weird cranking/creaking sound when I go over bumps. The only time it won't make that sound on a speed bump or any bump for that matter is if I go 3MPH. Mine sounded like something stored in the rear was squeaking, metal on metal. It started out intermittent and now it squeaks all the time regardless of conditions. Whenever I drive over speed bumps (slowly), I hear a squeaking noise from the rear while the car is settling.
